If you fancy making your own pizza, try out a recipe for pizza with Parma ham, rocket and cherry tomatoes, recommended by Robert Muzyczka, chef in the Korona Karkonoszy Manor.
Step no. 1 – make the dough Ingredients (recipe for approximately 4 portions):
- 500g wheat flour - 15g yeast - 1 glass lukewarm water - 2 tbsp. olive oil - pinch sugar - lever tsp salt Sift the flour into a bowl and add the salt. Combine the water, sugar and yeast, mix the whole thoroughly. Pour the solution onto the flour and set aside for 10-15 minutes to let the yeast activate. After that time pour in the olive oil, knead the dough and leave to rise. After 10-15 minutes knead the dough again and form dough balls. When they rise, roll each out into a round pizza base.
Step no. 2 – prepare the pizza sauce Ingredients:
- 1 small can tomatoes, pelati type, cut - 2 garlic cloves - 1 small tsp oregano - 1 small tsp basil - salt, sugar, black pepper to season
Crush the garlic onto the tomatoes, add the spices to taste and mix thoroughly. It is advisable to prepare the sauce a few hours earlier to allow the spices to release their flavour.
Step no. 3 – bake the pizza Ingredients (for 1 pizza):
- handful cheese, grated - 8-10 slices Parma ham - 10 cherry tomatoes - 1 handful fresh rocket - Tarsmak garlic sauce
Transfer the pizza base onto a baking tray slightly greased with oil. Spread over the tomato sauce (approximately 2 tbsp.), scatter over the grated cheese, then the Parma ham and halved cherry tomatoes. You should place the tomatoes skin-side down so that their juices evaporate and not sink into the pizza base. Top with some cheese. Bake the pizza in the oven for 10 minutes at 330C. Extend the baking time if you oven cannot reach such temperature. Garnish the baked pizza with the rocket and pour over the Tarsmak garlic sauce.
Enjoy your meal!
